ABOUT
LalenaKiana
Recently there has been a movement in the fashion industry towards better, sustainable practices. With documentaries educating the public on the negative side of fast fashion, many have seen the need to move to a slower more responsible manufacturing and usage of textiles. I've learned a bit about this, and I'm trying to do what I can to live more sustainably for the good of our planet Earth. There are several forms of creating more sustainable fashion. One method is On Demand and Custom Made clothing. Another is Repair, Redesign and Upcycle. Here at LalenaKiana, custom made items are the backbone of the creations. However, if you have an item of clothing that you would like to upcycle, we can work together to make something new from that favorite "gently used" item of yours. Also, by using fabric remnants and scraps to make new accessories, I'm striving to follow a Zero waste policy.

Me
Aloha! Dianne here. I've been sewing since childhood. My love for color and design led me to the Fashion Institute of Technology where I earned a degree in Textile/Surface Design. After graduating, I worked in the textile industry in NYC and on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Throughout those years, I continued designing and sewing various costumes (mostly figure skating dresses) and other items.
